He was the Academy’s President in the years 2007-2010, re-elected for the term 2011-2014. Between 1995 and 2002, Professor Kleiber was the director of the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where since 1986 he has been chairman of the Department of Computational Science and Engineering. In the years 1998-2002 he was member of the Academy’s Presidium and between 1997-2001 he chaired the Board for Directors of the Academy’s research institutes.

Prof. Michał Kleiber pursues research in theoretical and applied mechanics as well as information science and applied math. The main subject of his research are applications of state-of-the-art computational techniques in different areas of scientific research, technology and medicine – particularly for modeling, analyzing, simulating and visualizing of complex non-linear thermo- mechanics phenomena. In recent years, he has been actively involved in research and promotion of national innovation policies. Professor Kleiber is an author or co-author of over 240 scientific works and 7 books published by internationally renowned publishing houses. He is a member of editorial boards of 17 leading international scientific journals and the editor-in-chief of the prestigious Archives of Computational Methods in Engineering (Springer). He has also been active in popularizing science by, among others, being a scientific board member for the popular-science journal Wiedza i Życie (Science and Life). Prof. Kleiber is a winner of many awards, including the most prestigious Polish scientific award conferred by the Foundation for Polish Science and the medal granted by the Kingdom of Belgium for innovation achievements. He has been awarded the title of doctor honoris causa by the universities in Lublin, Kraków, Warsaw, Darmstadt (Germany), Mons (Belgium) and The Polish University Abroad, London, U.K. He also holds the ingenieur honoris causa title from the Ecole National d’Ingenieurs in Metz (France). He is a foreign member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg and member of the Academia Europaea in London. He is a full member of the Warsaw Learned Society.

Prof. Kleiber lectured and did research during long-term stays at a number of renowned universities world-wide: in Stuttgart, Hannover, Darmstadt and Bochum in Germany; Berkeley, CA and Stoors, CN, USA; Tokyo, Japan; Hong Kong, among others.

In the years 1998-2001 Michał Kleiber represented Poland in the EU Joint Research Centre as a member of the Board of Governors and in the “Sustainable Growth” Steering Committee in the 5th Framework Programme. Between 2001 and 2005, he headed the Ministry of Science and Information Technology in the Polish government. From 2002 to 2005, Prof. Kleiber was also the chairman of the Governmental Committee for Offset Contracts. In 2005, he was elected member of the European Research Council (Brussels) and chairman of the European Materials Forum (Strasbourg). In the years 2008 – 2010 he was member of the Governing Council Steering Committee of the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg. He also served as the pro bono science and technology advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland (2006 – 2010).

Mr. Przemysław Kurczewski implemented many successful strategic projects in the company. One of his biggest undertakings in terms of size and kind was the deployment of Digital Video Broadcasting — Terrestrial (DVB-T) standard in Poland. With DVB-T deployment, the reception and quality of TV signal was increased and a choice of TV channels was expanded.
In 2012 he re-organized the Polish sea rescue communication system, which ensures 24/7 communication services using international radio frequencies in case of emergency and for safety purposes at sea.
Since October 2013 the company has delivered fixed digital radio broadcasting in DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting) standard for Polskie Radio, gradually extending the coverage to other regions of the country.
Also worth noting are charitable actions for foundations, schools and other organizations, as well as sponsorship of a variety of initiatives undertaken by local communities.
Mr. Przemysław Kurczewski is actively engaged in many industry organizations, i.e. National Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications (KIGEiT), Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (PIIT), Confederation of Polish Employers (KPP), Polish Chamber of Digital Broadcasting (PIRC) and Council of the Foundation for the Development of Radio communication and Multimedia Technologies (FWRRiTM).

Krzysztof Mazur is Chairman of the Jagiellonian Club and a fellow of the Club’s Analytics Center,  with responsibility for Foreign Affairs, Social Issues, and Public Management. A graduate of the Jagiellonian University and the University of Notre Dame (USA), his Phd dissertation centered on social philosophy and public management. Mazur is currently a fellow at the Jagiellonian University, investigating issues including horizontal politics, the politics of innovation, and the concept of “the brain of the state”. Mazur is also an active member of two subcommittees within the National Development Committee: “Education, Youth, and Sport”, and “Science and Innnovation”. He coauthored two NDC reports on strategies for sustainable development. He is also a member of the National Centre for Research and Development.

As a member of the board of the Coalition For Polish Innovation, Mazur participated in the Open State-owned Enterprises Project, aiming to build corporations’ capabilities relative to the politics of innovation – Mazur chaired or took part in workshops on corporate start-up accelerators, corporate venture capital, public procurement law, and the Open Innovation model. Mazur also coordinated the Coalition’s project entitled “What role should be played by innovation brokers in the process of technology transfer?” The endeavor aimed at developing mechanisms facilitating the exchange of technology between universities and industry.

Author of over two dozen scientific publications, Mazur is also an active member of the Pressje Magazine Editorial Board. From 2013-2015 he held a postdoctoral fellowship with the Society-Environment-Technology Project, financed by the European Social Fund. In 2009-2010 he cooperated with the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk, and from 2006-2009 he held various consulting roles advising companies on the implementation of innovative management strategies. Under his leadership, the company was always a pioneer in the industry in terms of its marketing which included introducing innovative products that created trends in the fenestration industry as well as courageous endeavors in terms of promotion, advertising and brand building.  The best example is cooperation and sponsoring of top European football clubs including Inter Mediolan, Olimpique Lyon, and Borusią Dortmund.  In 23 years of functioning, the company introduced over 30 innovative products in the European PVC window and door market.  As a result of this hard work, the company has one of the most recognized brands in the fenestration industry.  OKNOPLAST currently has a sales network of over 3 000 authorized showrooms in Europe and has successful operations in 13 European countries.

Thanks to Mr. Placek’s leadership, 2016 was a record breaking year for the company – Oknoplast sold 1,5 million window units to France, Italy, Germany and other markets.

Jacek Socha is the Vice Chairman of PwC Polska Sp. z o.o. He joined PwC in December 2005. Since joining the company he has advised a number of Polish enterprises as well as foreign companies.

As Minister of State Treasury, in the years 2004-2005, he successfully completed a number of privatization transactions through the Warsaw Stock Exchange, including the biggest IPO in Poland – PKO BP.

As Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Poland, in the years 1994-2004, he participated in the process of creating regulations for the Polish capital market, as well as regulations which adjusted Polish law to the European Union’s regulations. He also participated in the admission process of a large number of companies currently listed on the WSE.
