Rafał Baniak (born 12 February 1976). He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and International Relations at the Cracow University of Economics. In the years 2002-2003, he was an adviser to the Minister of Labour and Social Policy. Between 2003 and 2004, he was a counsellor to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Acting Director of the Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister, Jerzy Hausner.

He worked at The Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis „Blachownia” in Kędzierzyn –Koźle. In 1998-2001 he was elected to the Mayor of the City of Kędzierzyn –Koźle.
