Dorota Hryniewiecka-Firlej graduated from the Medical University in Poznań, with a Ph.D. and the specialization in internal medicine. She has many years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry: Medical Representative and Hospital Treatment Department Manager in Janssen-Cilag, key managerial functions in Novo Nordisk and Wyeth. In Pfizer since 2009, currently Dorota Hryniewiecka-Firlej holds the position of Country Manager Pfizer Polska and Global Innovative Pharma Business Lead, being also a member of Global Innovative Pharma Business European Management Board. She is also a member of numerous organizations and associations, e.g. Executive Club, Business Centre Club, Pracodawcy RP, INFARMA. Parallel to an active professional life, she acts for the local community. In spare time, she is dedicated to her passion Gothic manuscripts: she creates and paints illuminations using dyes prepared by herself on the base of medieval recipes.

Professor and manager of the Department of Management Theory at the Warsaw School of Economics. Deputy Rector for International Cooperation in the years 2005-2008. Founder of the Polish-Japanese Management Centre and the Research Centre for Responsible Business at the Warsaw School of Economics. Co-creator of the so-called Digital University at the Warsaw School of Economics. President of the FORUM Association for Managerial Education.

Authored over 200 publications. Recently deals with the New (network-based) Economy, the impact of technology on business models, the internet of things, prosumption, crowdsourcing, corporate social responsibility and marketing for “new clients”. Co-authored a number of pioneer international research papers, including about new post-socialist entrepreneurship, knowledge management, innovativeness of enterprises and the so-called tacit knowledge.

4 listopada 2013 dołączyła do grupy General Electric rozpoczynając pracę na stanowisku Prezesa i Dyrektora Generalnego GE na Polskę i Kraje Bałtyckie. Od 1991 związana z instytucjami rynku kapitałowego. W latach 1991-1999 pracowała w Komisji Papierów Wartościowych i Giełd (m.in. jako dyrektor sekretariatu i rzecznik prasowy).

Była też konsultantką Banku Światowego w projektach tworzenia regulacji giełdowych na rzecz rynków w Rosji i Ukrainie. Pełniła m.in. funkcję prezesa zarządu Warszawskiej Giełdy Towarowej (2000–2001), następnie w latach 2001-2005 wchodziła w skład władz Grupy Prokom Software. W latach 2005-2007 jako członek zarządu Intrum Justitia TFI S.A. tworzyła fundusz sekurytyzacyjny. Od 2008 do 2011 roku była partnerem i wiceprezesem MCI Management S.A. oraz prezesem MCI Capital TFI, zarządzającego funduszami PE/VC.

Zasiadała też w radach nadzorczych różnych przedsiębiorstw (w tym Bioton S.A. i Travelplanet.pl S.A.). W latach 2006-2011 była prezesem Stowarzyszenia Emitentów Giełdowych i członkiem zarządu EuropeanIssuers. Od 2011 do 2013 roku pełniła funkcję Podsekretarza Stanu w Ministerstwie Spraw Zagranicznych. Studia magisterskie ukończyła na Wydziale Finansów i Statystyki w Szkole Głównej Planowania i Statystyki (obecnie SGH) w Warszawie. Jest również absolwentką studiów MBA w INSEAD oraz Uniwersytetu Calgary.
