She graduated from the Medical University in Poznań, with a Ph.D. and specialization in internal medicine. She began her professional career in 1996 in Janssen-Cilag as a pharmaceutical sales representative and assumed the role of Specialty Care Business Unit Lead in 2000.

She built her experience in the pharmaceutical industry over the next years, holding managerial positions in Novo Nordisk and Wyeth. In 2009 she joined Pfizer and became a member of the local leadership team. Since 2013, she has been Specialty Care Business Unit Director. In the second half of 2013, parallel, to Specialty Care BU leadership, she also assumed the post of Market Access Director. At the beginning of 2014, Dorota Hryniewiecka-Firlej was appointed Country Manager and Global Innovative Pharma Business Poland Lead in Pfizer, as well as a member of the GIP European leadership team. In life, she is guided by the rule that people are the most important. Her exceptional ability to motivate employees and manage change helps her increase employee involvement and achieve unique results.

Parallel to an active professional life, Dorota acts for the local community. As a sign of recognition, in December 2013 she received an internal award, granted by Pfizer Polska employees, for her community work. In 2014 Dorota Hryniewiecka-Firlej was ranked 14th out of 50 most influential women in Poland according to a long-established monthly economic “Home & Market” magazine.

Fascinated with European manuscripts, especially Gothic ones, in her free time she pursues her passion – illumination of her own manuscripts using hand-prepared dyes based on medieval recipes she mixes herself. Piotr Kasak is responsible for selling Oracle technologies to General Business customers as Oracle Director for Central, Eastern and Southern Europe.

He started his career as IT Specialist at the National Center for Health System Management, and then worked as ERP Solutions Consultant at Computer Solutions International. Andreas Klugescheid

Adam Krzanowski

Adam Krzanowski is a co-owner of Nowy Styl Group, the 3rd largest office furniture manufacturer in Europe. He served as Member of the Management Board from 1993, after which he became the company’s commercial proxy. He was appointed President of the Board in 2009.

His studies at the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow were interrupted by his trip to the United States where he worked for the Whyte company. The time spent in the US was the main driving force that encouraged him to start his own business. The experience he gained allowed him to open a new enterprise. In 1992, together with his brother Jerzy, they decided to register Nowy Styl sp. z o.o., now Nowy Styl Group.

In 1999 Adam Krzanowski was awarded the first prize in the Young Business Achiever competition, in the Top Achievement category.

In 2004 the Polish Confederation of Private Employers honoured him with the Andrzej Wierzbicki award for creating a thriving company and adhering to the principles of business ethics; in the same year he also received the Kisiel Award for “capitalism in good style”.

In 2014 Adam Krzanowski won the Polish edition of Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of  The Year 2014 award and represented Poland at the global competition in May 2015 in Monaco.

His greatest passion is winemaking which he fulfils by running his own vineyards in which he makes his own wine.



Przemysław Kurczewski

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Law, University of Maryland, USA, and received an MBA degree at the Warsaw University of Technology.

He has been working for the Telekomunikacja Polska Group (GK TP) since 2002. In 2002-2006, he was one of the persons responsible for developing and implementing TP Group’s wholesale strategy. In 2006, he became the Manager of TP Groups’ Department of Regulatory Relationships. Vice Chairman and Partner of PwC in Poland

Jacek Socha is the Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities S.A. as well as the Vice Chairman of PwC Polska Sp. z o.o. He joined PwC in December 2005. Since joining the company he has advised a number of Polish enterprises as well as foreign companies.

As Minister of State Treasury, in the years 2004-2005, he successfully completed a number of privatization transactions through the Warsaw Stock Exchange, including the biggest IPO in Poland – PKO BP.

As Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Poland, in the years 1994-2004, he participated in the process of creating regulations for the Polish capital market, as well as regulations which adjusted Polish law to the European Union’s regulations. He also participated in the admission process of a large number of companies currently listed on the WSE.

He is the Honorary Member of:

– the Warsaw Stock Exchange,

– the Chamber of Brokerage Houses,

– and the Association of Securities Brokers and Investment Advisors.

He executed essential functions in the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), where, in the years 1998-2000 he chaired the European Regional Committee. He was the Deputy Chairman of the Emerging Market Committee in the years 1996-1998 and Member of the Executive Committee in the years 1994-2000.

Jacek Socha was engaged, from the very beginning, in the creation of Corporate Governance rules in Poland, he is the co-writer of the first rules approved by the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2002. He is the Member of the Corporate Governance Committee. Jacek Socha is an Arbitrator of the Arbitrary Court acting by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

Tomasz Szapiro

Rector of SHG Warsaw School of Economics

Professor Tomasz Szapiro is the Rector of SGH Warsaw School of Economics. His degrees include: MSc in Physics from University of Warsaw, Poland, PhD in Mathematics from Polish Academy of Sciences, habilitation and full professor title in Economics. He is professor in Division of Decision Analysis and Support in the Institute of Econometrics in SGH. He is also professor of Institute for Modern Civilization at SGH and Adjunct Professor of International Business Studies at the Carlson School of Business, University of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
His research interests focus on Operational Research, IT and Economics of Privacy and Economics of Education. He publishes in Poland and abroad (two books, monograph, over 120 articles and conference papers (in e.g. Operations Research, IEEE Transactions on System Man and Cybernetics, European Journal of Operations Research) and takes active part in international conferences. Professor Szapiro is a referee for first rank international research journals. He worked as visiting professor and part-time lecturer in the School of Business, Carleton University and in the Department of Computer Science, University of Ottawa, Canada.
He was a member of the Economic Award Committee of the President of the Republic of Poland. He worked as an expert for European Commission and Fulbright Commission (project evaluation), for the Ministers of Finance, Economy, National Education. Supervisory Board Member of ING-BSK (representative of the Minister of Treasury of the Republic of Poland) and of Aviva Commercial Union. Tomasz Szapiro has extensive experience in development and implementing international projects on high quality managerial education. He participates in activities of international networks (CEMS, PIM, EUA). He was the member of assessment team in two EPAS accreditation processes (2003 and 2015) and he has been the member of the Global Alliance CEMS Strategic Board (2012-2016).

He received number of awards for organizational and research achievements, and was also awarded twice by students of Canadian Executive MBA Program for excellence in teaching. He is the laureate two Awards of the Minister of Science and Higher Education and five Awards of the Rector of SGH Warsaw School of Economics for Achievements in Research, Teaching and Organization. Professor Tomasz Szapiro was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

Press, radio, and television journalist. Currently the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. For many years he has been associated with the TVN group – anchorman and executive producer of programs devoted to the market and economy aired on TVN CNBC, TVN 24, TVN 24 Biznes i Swiat. He started his career in Radio PIN, which no longer exists. Afterwards he was associated with Radio TOK FM for numerous years, where he performed the function of Deputy Editor-in-Chief and hosted a morning TV program entitled “EKG”. He spent one year learning about television in the Wydarzenia news program on the Polsat TV station.

Andrew Wrobel

Andrew Wrobel is head of editorial at Emerging Europe, an online publication discussing business opportunities in 23 countries across Central and Eastern Europe.
Trained as a journalist and a film maker, he has worked for broadcast media for over a decade. Since the beginning of his career he has covered business, investment, trade, macro-economy and political economy and, occasionally, culture and tourism. He regularly interviews political and business leaders about economics, business and politics.
His main area of expertise is Central and Eastern Europe. He has authored and contributed to a number of international business, investment and trade-related publications, guides and reports, mainly about the CEE region. In 2014, Andrew was awarded by the International Event and Visual Communication Association (EVCOM) for his coverage of a communications campaign UK Trade and Investment ran in CEE.
Andrew is a moderator and panelist at national and international economic and business events and a media commentator. He is also a media trainer helping spokespeople convey the right message to the media and a location promotion coach showcasing best practice of media engagement and FDI/trade promotion.
Andrew is based in London but he travels extensively, especially across Central and Eastern Europe.

Karol Zarajczyk is a graduate of Finance and Accounting of Kozminski University specialising in Capital Investments and a scholarship recipient of the European Commission who studied in Italy, France, Great Britain and Japan – graduating with a diploma from Waseda University.
