One of the most renowned Polish scientists in the area of technology, working in Singapore for the Agency for Science, Technology and Research. He created a digital map of the human brain, authored numerous patents, and received many prestigious international awards, including the 3rd edition of the “Outstanding Pole” (“Wybitny Polak”) competition. He gives lectures at the world’s most renowned universities. As he said himself, he came back to the country to “build an innovative Poland”. In an interview for Gazeta Wyborcza he stated that during the last 25 years Poland has undergone a political and economic transformation, but we forgot about an innovative transformation. Professor Nowiński will give an opening speech at the “Private Equity Diamonds” awards gala, so the attending guests, participants, finalists, and laureates of these prestigious awards will have a unique opportunity to listen and learn about the latest ideas of the professor for reforming the Polish economy and effectively implementing new technologies.

Rafał has nearly twenty years of experience in managing investment projects. Rafał executed tens of M&A transaction primarily with private equity investors, but also for multinational corporations as well as private individuals.

Rafał started his professional career in the structured finance department of ABN Amro in the bank’s Warsaw and Amsterdam offices. Then he went on to the corporate finance department in the London branch of the bank. In 1999 Rafał started working at Central Europe’s leading private equity player – AIG New Europe Fund, where he managed several investment projects in Poland, Romania, and Hungary.
In 2001 Rafał founded the advisory company Capital Investment Consulting (currently CIC Corporate Finance). Initially, he maintained shareholder supervision over the portfolio companies of the private equity funds. At CIC Corporate Finance, Rafał has managed numerous transactions for different clients such as international corporations, global financial institutions as well as Polish entrepreneurs.
Rafał is a graduate of the Banking and Finance Faculty at the Warsaw School of Economics, and Capital Market Faculty at Staffordshire University, UK.
