The best of the Private Equity sector awarded with “Private Equity Diamonds”

During the ceremony in warsaw‘s Ufficio Primo the winners of the third edition of „Private Equity Diamonds” were honoured. In organized by the Executive Club with the support of Polish Private Equity & Venture Capital Association the best private equity sector entities were awared these prestigious awards in ten categories.

The ceremony was the culmination of the V edition of Private Equity Forum – a conference, which every year brings together the leaders of this dynamically developing sector in Poland. Experts and representatives of the main stakeholders of our native Private Equity sector discussed the potential of the sector against the background of the markets with the long tradition of establishing cooperation between funds, as well as the role of the PE in the development of innovative economy.

“Private Equity Diamonds” competition was divided into several stages and emerged nominees and winners, who were elected by the Chapter under the leadership of the Director of the Polish Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, Barbara Nowakowski. The idea that leads the organizers of the contest is to promote the added value that the funds contribute to the development of Polish companies. The growing importance of the sector and increasing openness of companies to use PE capital, is reflected in the number of entries to the competition – Jury decisions were particularly difficult this year.

Opening the awards ceremony, guest of the evening, a longtime president of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Dr. Wieslaw Rozłucki, spoke about the quarter-century of political transformation and talked about the positive changes from the point of view of the capital market. “Thanks to careful and preceded by lively discussions decisions in the financial sector, we see today a very high degree of security, which though sometimes excessive, especially in times of crisis turns out to be invaluable.” President Rozłucki also emphasized the role of the development of the Private Equity sector. The winners were presented by the sector experts and CEOs of PE ompanies. The Competition Jury awarded prizes to the winners in 10 categories:

9 Fund of the Year : Mid Europa Partners
10 Private Equity Personality: ex aequo 1 ) Jacek Korpała and 2) duo Bill Watson and Robert Manz
