Graduate of the Faculty of International Trade at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Faculty of Mechanical and Technological Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. He also completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of International Trade Theory at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD Fontainebleau.
In 1991, he began his career in the banking sector as the Director of the Foreign Department at the National Bank of Poland. He participated in Poland’s negotiations with the London Club and the Paris Club on debt reduction. From 1995, he was the Vice President of the Management Board at Hypo-Bank Polska, and later the Vice President of the Management Board at Bank of Food Economy.
From 2002 to 2011, he served as the President of the Management Board at Nordea Bank Polska, where, among other achievements, he conducted the merger with LG Petrobank. During this time, he also served in the governing bodies of the Polish Bank Association. In 2012, he took the position of Vice President of the Management Board for Financial Affairs at KGHM Polska Miedź. In 2013, he was awarded the honorary badge „For Merits to Public Finances of the Republic of Poland”. From 2015 to 2017, he was a curator at the Bank of Polish Co-operatives SA and a member of the Banking Ethics Committee of the Polish Bank Association.
Since 2017, he has been the Vice President of the Polish Bank Association.
