Polish economist and manager, specializing in banking, capital markets and economic policy. He specializes in investments, management, macroeconomic analyses, strategic and financial planning, as well as company restructuring. He started his career as the chief economist at the Erste Bank Group in Poland. As of 2001, head of the Analyses Department managing funds, and then Investment Director for the funds managed by the Deutsche Bank Group – Deutsche Asset Management and DWS – the second largest asset management organization in the world.He co-developed a Polish company specializing in private equity and venture capital investments, as the Vice-President of the investment and advisory company, AKJ Capital S.A., and the President of the Management Board of AKJ Investment TFI. From 2001 to 2005, a research fellow at the Warsaw School of Economics where he studied the theory of economic convergence and the relationship between the financial sector and economic growth. From May 2010 to April 2016, Managing Director at PKO Bank Polski S.A., responsible for economic analysis, strategy and group development, as well as investor relations. As of 1 May 2016, the CEO of the Polish Development Fund. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

Member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Since December 2005 President of the Polish Economic Society. Member of the Bureau of the Committee “Poland 2000 Plus”, the Economics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the National Development Council at the President of Poland. The author, co-author and editor of approx. 200 publications in the field of economic analysis, finance and business valuation, and the field of economic systems and strategies for socio-economic development.

For most of his career he combined business and academic experience. He has PhD in Economics from Imperial College London, Engineer’s diploma and MBA from Warsaw University of Technology. He was a lecturer and currently also the Director of Warsaw University of Technology Business School. He is a co-founder of INVEN Group – company with a development and investment profile operating in the energy sector and a Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Columbus Energy, leading provider of solar systems in Poland. Between 2006-2008 he was a member of the PSE Management Board and the President of PGE. He was also a partner in the British consulting company CET (Central Europe Trust). As a part of CET, he supervised and co-created many consulting and investment projects for the largest Polish and international energy companies..
